Day: Lake Fuschl, Wolfgangsee & Mondsee We visit the beautiful Salzkammergut lake district. The opening scenes of the film were shot around Fuschl and Wolfgang, and Mondsee is home to the church where Maria and Captain Von Trapp were married. Full Day: Salzburg & ‘The Sound of Music’ Salzburg has acquired worldwide renown as the backdrop to the beloved musical ‘The Sound of Music’. We enjoy a guided tour of the city visiting some of the filming locations including the Summer House, Maria’s convent, the Mozartplatz and the Mirabell Gardens, where Maria and the children sang ‘Do-Re-Mi’. Full Day: Berchtesgarden & Königsee Berchtesgarden is a small, historic town surrounded by the German Alps, and is home to the “kehlsteinhaus”, or Hitler’s ‘Eagle’s Nest’, which is located at 1,834m. The town has retained its original charm and character as many house fronts are decorated with murals. Then onto Königsee, which is the deepest lake in the alps. The scenery around this area is featured in the Sound of Music. |
