In the heart of the Dorset countryside, the small town of Sherborne has lots of charm and
history, with its mellow stone architecture and interesting speciality shops.You can discover
an abbey, which dates from Saxon times, a ruined castle that was once the home of Sir
Walter Raleigh, and a famous boy’s public school, founded in 1550. It’s a wonderful touring
base too, allowing us to combine the very best of the Devon coastline plus a great day out
at Longleat House and Safari Park.

FULL
DAY DAY:
A relatively short journey takes us into Wiltshire for a special
visit to Longleat, where a Day Passport Ticket is included,
enabling you to take in all the attractions. Longleat House,
the 16th century stately home has sumptuously furnished rooms,
with some magnificent tapestries, whilst the extensive grounds
were landscaped by ‘Capability’ Brown in the 18th century.
But there is much more to enjoy, including a renowned safari
park, mazes, Butterfly Garden, a narrow gauge railway plus
gift and craft shops. There will be plenty of time to explore
at your leisure before returning to Sherborne.
FULL DAY Our second
full day tour takes us to the South Devon coast, where a succession
of small resorts are set between cliffs and wooded hills.
Our first stop is at Seaton, where there’s an opportunity
to ride on the restored tramway, following the River Axe,
if you wish. From here we drive along the coast to Sidmouth,
a genteel resort set between distinctive red cliffs, which
has an air of Victorian prosperity.

THIS MODERN HOTEL stands in four acres
of grounds on the outskirts of Sherborne and offers a range
of facilities including the Castles Restaurant, a comfortable
bar and lounge. All bedrooms feature television, telephone,

HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY to choose the coach seat of your choice
which is yours from the moment you join your tour coach. Seat
numbers are not allocated on regional transfer services. In
most cases on coaches equipped with a rear mounted WC, seats
23 and 24 move to the driver’s side of the vehicle, whilst
seats 45 and 46 move one seat forward of the rear seat.
Please note
that SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED ON COACHES. Passengers who do
smoke will have ample opportunity to do so at the comfort
stops en route.
