On arrival in Germany we glide through the impressive Kiel Canal, the world’s busiest man-made waterway reaching the maritime city of Kiel. From here, we sail into hanseatic Wismar then onto the bustling port of Hamburg, a city steeped in history yet at the forefront of modernity. An amble through its old town presents an appealing scene of seventeenth century merchant’s residences alongside laidback cafés. Cruising on via the picturesque Elbe and Weser rivers, we reach beautiful Bremen where your ship docks in the heart of the city giving you the perfect base to explore the UNESCO listed market square and gothic Town Hall.
