The most famous railway in the world, the Trans-Siberian Railroad, is thousands of kilometers long – from the shores of the Baltic Sea to the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Its construction extended for long decades.

The first section – from Saint-Petersburg to Moscow – was accepted by Emperor Nicholas I personally. In 1861 His Majesty made the first pleasure journey between the two capitals of the State of Russia. His son, Emperor Alexander II, inherited his father’s helm. According to the Royal Edict, the railway from Moscow to Ural Mountains has been constructed for almost 40 years.

The next section – around 7 thousand kilometers long – extending from the far city of Miass in the Ural region to the Pacific ocean itself was already laid by Alexander III. His son – the future Last Emperor of Russia Nicholas II – was present at the solemn ceremony of construction work. Construction of the Great Road was finished in the last year of his reign – in 1916.

The Great Siberian Way is indeed one of the amazing man-made wonders of the World. The Road of Four Emperors connects the European continent with the mysterious Asia. The Trans-Siberian Railway, along which goes the famous excursion deluxe train “Imperial Russia”,the train passes by all the largest historical and cultural centers of the vast Russian Empire. The trip starts in the famous Saint-Petersburg – the magnificent Northern Capital. The next stop is the ancient and mysterious Moscovia.

The next stop – Kazan, the capital of the ancient Tatar Khanate, the place, where Christianity meets Muslimism. Yekaterinburg, Tobolsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk – each city conceals a number of secrets. It is here the history of the State of Russia was made. For instance, in XVI century in the small town of Tobolsk the last Siberian governor Uraz Mohammed khan put down arms and swore to the Russian throne. And four hundred years later the Supreme ruler of the State of Russia, the legendary Admiral Alexander Kolchak, was captured in Irkutsk.

And finally, the gem of the Trans-Siberian Railway – the vast and stunningly beautiful Lake Baikal wich overs an area the size of Holland.

All UK residents need a visa to enter Russia.

A visa to the Russian Federation is a document, permitting stay in Russia for a specific period of time. Visa lists entry/exit dates, your name, passport details, and a purpose of travel.

Please note, that your Russian visa is an exit permit just like it’s an entry permit: if you lose it or stay over your designated departure date, leaving the country could be more troublesome than entering it.
