We meet in Sicily’s capital, Palermo, and dive straight into its warren of streets with a local guide. This morning is dedicated to the Norman Palace, a wonder of Palermo and the Palatine Chapel – with walls coated in glimmering paintings that will astound. Next, we visit Corleone to learn more about the area and later, we enjoy a welcome dinner together. (D)
This morning, we bid farewell to Palermo and set our eyes onwards to the medieval town of Erice. When you’re not marvelling at the impressive views of the valley and ocean (if the weather is clear), hunt down Sicily's most famous almond cake shop, which calls Erice home. Next up is Trapani, where we meet with a family member and owner of the ‘Museo del Sale’, or ‘Salt Flat Museum’ to discover the history and traditions of salt production. After, it’s time for a local wine tasting before resting our heads in Marsala. (B,D)
After breakfast, we leave Marsala and carry onwards to our next destination. Making a stop at the Kolymbetra Garden, we will wander through the ruins of the Valley of Temples and find peace in the tranquil surrounds of the lush plantlife. After an enlightening day, we make our way back to the hotel to savour a delicious dinner together with the company of your fellow travellers in Agrigento. (B,D)
We have one thing in mind today: delicious food. Start the day with a food tasting tour with a local guide through Sant’Angelo Muxaro. Sample your way through the morning with cheese, olive bread, peppers and a local treat – the sweet honey cake. To end the day, we meet for another satisfying dinner in Agrigento. (B,D)
Our first stop is Piazza Armerina, where we visit the one-of-a-kind Villa Romana del Casale, containing one of the largest collections of Roman mosaics in the world. Next, we follow in the footsteps of Inspector Montalbano in Sicily one of the filming locations for the cult detective series in Modica. Our trail takes us onwards to Ragusa with the rest of the day to wander the town at your own pace. You could seek out a local trattoria to try some Sicilian specialities. (B)
Seaside Syracuse, which rivalled Athens as the most important city of ancient Greece, is our stomping ground today. Our local guide leads us to the temples and sacred caves of the archaeological park. The best way to enjoy it is to happily get lost in its winding streets, which open out on baroque piazzas, bustling markets and beautiful sea views. Later we turn to Catania and share a farewell dinner. (B,D)
Now it’s time to take an up close look at Mount Etna, a slumbering giant that towers over the surrounding landscape. After a lavafuelled morning, we stop at Taormina and enjoy a guided tour of some of the city’s greats including the 13th century Cathedral of San Nicola and the splendid Greek Theatre. (B)

With tour sizes of up to 18, our tour leaders can ensure a more personalised experience. Smaller group sizes also mean we can guarantee our tours will run once we have just four guests booked.
On the vast majority of tours we travel by Mercedes or Mercedes Vito mini-coaches, equipped with comfortable seats, air-conditioning and large windows for enjoying the view. With the flexibility to go anywhere a car can, we take the smaller roads through beautiful scenery and get right to the heart of tiny villages and buzzing cities.
Along the way, your Tour Leader can offer intriguing insights about the views we see over the onboard PA system. And, with long drives kept to a minimum, you’ll have plenty of time to stretch your legs and explore sites for yourself.
Scenic back roads not motorways
Winding country lanes. Coastal beauty spots. Breathtaking mountain passes. With luxury mini-coaches that take us along scenic roads beyond the reach of large vehicles, the journey is as much a part of the adventure as the destination.
Authentic Local Experiences
Truly getting to know a destination means stepping off the typical tourist trail. From hidden-gem attractions to local favourites, we take time to seek out genuine experiences that take you to the heart of each spectacular region.
One of the most enjoyable ways to experience a different culture is to sample the cuisine. From visits to local producers to food and wine tastings and even cooking lessons, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to discover new flavours.
Whether it’s a classic country inn or an elegant chateau, each day’s journey ends in a hotel with plenty of character. We opt for accommodation that reflects the personality of the local area, and fits right in with its surroundings.
Leisurely Paced Travel
Forget sunrise starts and long days hopping on and off the bus. We rarely leave before 8.30am and give each stop the attention it deserves – keeping long drives to a minimum. And giving you plenty of time to explore at your own pace.
