Day 3 Prague Sightseeing (included);
Prague by Night (optional) We spend the day in the elegant Czech capital. Marvel at the sights, including Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square and the Old Town Square. Our walking tour introduces the splendid architecture of Prague Old Town, the world’s largest UNESCO monument, whilst our optional Prague by Night tour gives you the chance to sample the special evening ambience of the Old Town Square. |
Day 4 Konopiste Castle (optional) Spend the day in Prague or why not join our optional excursion to the impressive castle of Konopiste, set in the beautiful Czech countryside to the south of Prague. The castle, which dates from the 14th century, was predominantly used for hunting and houses a huge collection of historical weapons, period furniture, paintings and tapestries. |
Day 5 Bratislava (included) En route to the Vienna Woods from Prague, we visit Bratislava, Slovakia’s largest city. We have a brief orientation of the highlights of the city, with its long history and exquisitely renovated centre of Baroque palaces, fountains and romantic boulevards. |
Day 6 Budapest with sightseeing
(included) Discover the Hungarian capital. Our included sightseeing tour takes in many points of interest, beginning with a drive to Gellért Hill, then over the Chain Bridge and on to the Pest district, passing Heroes Square and the charming Andrassy Road. Finally, we make our way to the Buda castle district. |
Day 7 Vienna (included)
and Vienna Sightseeing (optional) The former imperial city of Vienna has a fascinating heritage as the centre of the Habsburg Empire, and is also the world capital of classical music, having been home to many famous composers. There are over 80 museums, as well as elegant shops and boutiques. Our optional guided tour will introduce the principal sights, including the Hofburg Palace, the Parliament Building, the Opera House, National Theatre and the City Hall. We see the house where Johann Strauss composed the Blue Danube Waltz, before crossing the Danube to see the United Nations complex. We then pass the famous Prater Wheel before returning to the centre. |

You’ll have sole use of your own room in all hotels. In Prague, you’ll stay for three nights at the 4-star Jury’s Inn or similar. The hotel offers a restaurant, bar and lift. All bedrooms have T.V. and telephone. You’ll then stay in the Vienna Woods area to the west of Vienna for three nights at the 4-star Hotel Steinberger in Eichgraben or similar.
