Day 2 - Tours, Azay-le-Rideau
We head to the Loire Valley for a two-night stay in Chinon, a smart ‘bourgeois’ town. Enjoy included visits to Tours, and pretty Azay le Rideau. B,D
Day 3 - Loire Valley
Included full day exploring the lovely Loire Valley rich in châteaux. We travel first to the picturesque town of Blois, then continue to Amboise on the banks of the Loire River. We end the day at the village of Chenonceaux, home to the Château de Chenonceau built over the river Cher. B,D
Day 4 - Oradour-sur-Glane
En route to Rocamadour in the Dordogne for a two-night stay, we visit the Remembrance village of Oradour-sur-Glane, scene of a German SS massacre of the villagers. The ruined village has been left exactly as it was during the war. B,D
Day 5 - Rocamadour
Full day at leisure in Rocamadour, perched high on a limestone cliff in the heart of the Dordogne. B,D
Day 6 - Carcassonne
We drive through the beautiful Dordogne countryside to Carcassonne for an overnight stay. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure exploring Carcassonne, with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside from the walls of the old city. B,D
Day 7 - Béziers and the Grotte de Clamouse
This morning we travel to the medieval town of Béziers, then to the famous Grotte de Clamouse to see the calcite and aragonite formations. Continue to Aix-en-Provence for a three-night stay B,D

Day 8 - Bormes les Mimosas and St. Raphael
Our included excursion to the Côte d’Azur begins at the pretty floral village of Bormes les Mimosas, considered to be one of the prettiest in France. We continue to St. Raphael, a striking riviera resort with a charming old centre, fine beach and home to the rich and famous. B,D

Day 9 - Gorges du Verdon
Free time in Aix-en-Provence or join our optional tour to one of the most impressive natural sights in Europe, the Gorges du Verdon. This dramatic gorge is a sight not to miss as the pretty River Verdon flows through this precipitous valley. B,D
Day 10 - Ardèche
En route to the Lyon/Macon area for an overnight stay we explore the wild, rugged, yet intensely beautiful scenery of the Ardèche, seeing quaint villages clinging to the hillsides, as well as the famous Gorges de l’Ardèche and the Pont d’Arc, a spectacular arch carved out by the Ardèche river. B,D
To the Paris area for an overnight stay. This evening, join our optional visit into the Latin Quarter, with its bustling atmosphere and many restaurants,cafes and bars. B
