Day 3 - Giverny

You're going to spend a full day in Giverny, where the artist Claude Monet lived from 1883 until his death in 1926. That gives you plenty of time to explore his house and, one of the highlights of your tour, his beautiful gardens. Take in sights he captured on canvas so many times, including the Japanese-style water garden, and take a walk over the pretty green footbridge. As you admire the water lilies floating below you, Monet's most famous paintings will be brought to life.

We're going to head through the stunning Loire Valley on today's excursion, which takes us to the Chateau of Villandry. You'll find a surprise around every corner as you explore the manicured ornamental gardens, which have been restored to their original Renaissance splendour. On our return journey we'll stop for a strollaround medieval Chinon, where winding streets and half-timbered houses sit in the shadow of a sprawling castle.

Day 6 - Chateau Chenonceau

Chateau Chenonceau, which occupies a unique setting spanning the River Cher, is famed as one of the Loire Valley's most impressive chateaux. See if you agree during your visit today. As you explore its formal gardens, which sit at an elevated position, you'll be able to see the chateau in all its glory, plus the surrounding countryside. Your sightseeing continues in the charming town of Amboise, nestled on the banks of the Loire River and one-time home to Leonardo da Vinci. As you head off to explore, be sure to find hishouse, it's a must-see
