Today we will continue our tour of Flanders’ key battlefields, before we make our way to Ypres. This town is perhaps best known as the site of many dramatic First World War battles, and where countless British soldiers fought and died. Enjoy a visit to the In Flanders’ Fields Museum, situated in the cloth Hall of Ypres, with many interesting exhibits. From Ypres you can explore further on our optional excursion to the Hooge Crater. After dinner in a local restaurant this evening, we attend the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate, placed in honour of those who perished with no known graves. (B,D)
Today we explore the city of Bruges, where you can enjoy free time exploring the delights of this charming city. This afternoon from Bruges you can choose to join our optional excursion to Sluis over the Dutch border. (B,D)
