Day 1: UK - Amsterdam
On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your ship for embarkation and a welcome cocktail reception and dinner (D)
Day 2: Amsterdam - Wesel.
Admire Amsterdam's pretty bridges, tree-lined streets and gabled merchants' houses - many dating back to the Netherlands' 'Golden Age' in the 17th century on an optional guided tour. Enjoy time at leisure in the afternoon or join an optional excursion to the gothic architecture and cobbled streets of Haarlem. Later, cruise to Wesel. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Wesel - Dusseldorf.
Cruise through the cities of Nijmegen and Arnhem. Enter the Rhine River basin and cross the border into Germany near Emmerich. Arrive in Wesel and perhaps join the optional visit of the Dutch Open Air Museum of Arnhem. Return to the ship in Düsseldorf and have an evening of entertainment on board.(B,L,D)
Day 4: Dusseldorf - Cologne - Konigswinter - Koblenz.
Admire the beauty of the Rhine as you cruise to the vibrant commercial and industrial city of Cologne. There will be an optional guided tour on foot of the city. Transfer by coach to Königswinter, there, the cruise continues along the Rhine to Koblenz. In the evening, perhaps take a leisurely stroll through the town. (B,L,D)
Day 5: Mainz - Worms.
Cruise the picturesque route from Mainz to Worms where you will see numerous castles nestled among the famous vineyards and the legendary Lorelei rock. Arrive in Mainz this afternoon and perhaps join the optional guided tour of the city and a visit to the Gutenberg Museum. Reboard the ship in Worms and cruise through the night to Strasbourg. (B,L,D)
Day 6: Strasbourg - Breisach.
Enjoy time at leisure in this captivating city. Perhaps discover the European Parliament building, tour the interior of the stunning Gothic cathedral and visit the La Petite France old quarter, where 500-year-old houses cluster around miniature canals. Alternatively, an optional guided tour that shows you the very best of this beautiful city is also available. Later, cruise to Breisach, admiring the magnificent wineproducing region en-route. Tonight, there will be a Gala evening on board. (B,L,D)
Day 7: Breisach - Basel.
Enjoy a morning at leisure in Breisach; renowned for housing one of the largest wine cellars in Europe it also boasts an imposing historic cathedral. An optional afternoon excursion uncovers the beauty of Titisee in the Black Forest before we cruise to Basel. (B,L,D)
Day 8: Basel.
Today, perhaps join the optional guided visit of Basel, an ancient medieval town, situated on the banks of the Rhine in the heart of Europe. In the afternoon, an optional excursion visits the Rhine Falls, one the most spectacular sites to visit in Switzerland. (B)
Day 9: Basel - UK
After breakfast, disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK. (B)
