Holiday Itinerary - Heart of the Canadian Rockies
Day 1: UK - Calgary.
Day 2: Calgary - Banff National Park.
See many of Calgary’s attractions on a sightseeing tour. Drive into Banff National Park and the mountain resort of Banff, gateway to the Canadian Rockies. (B)
Day 3: Banff National Park.
Today is at leisure to enjoy the many pleasures of Banff. Perhaps take an optional helicopter ride over the Canadian Rockies?
Day 4: Banff National Park - Lake Louise - Columbia Icefield - Jasper National Park
Visit Lake Louise, its azure-blue waters a perfect natural mirror reflecting the surrounding mountains and glaciers. Stop at the Columbia Icefield for an exciting Ice Explorer ride over the 1,200ft-thick Athabasca Glacier. Arrive in the picturesque resort of Jasper and enjoy an orientation tour of the town. There will also be a chance to join an optional raft trip down the Athabasca river.
Day 5: Jasper National Park
Spend the day at leisure or perhaps join the excursion to Maligne Lake and Spirit Island.
Day 6: Jasper National Park - Mount Robson - Kamloops
Today, follow the Fraser river to the base of spectacular Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Continue following Yellowhead Highway alongside the mighty Thompson river, enjoying the spectacular vistas of the Monashee Mountains en route to Kamloops.
Day 7: Kamloops - Victoria
Travel through British Columbia’s lush Coast Mountains to its majestic Pacific coastline. Sail across the Strait of Georgia and through the spectacular Gulf Islands to Victoria. Visit Butchart Gardens, Bastion Square and Thunderbird Park.
Day 8: Victoria
The day is at leisure to experience more of the many attractions this splendid city has to offer, including the Royal British Columbia Museum or whale watching on the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Day 9: Victoria - Vancouver
Set sail back to Vancouver across the Strait of Georgia. On arrival, see Chinatown, Gastown, Vancouver’s beautiful beaches and harbour, then tour Stanley Park on a sightseeing tour.
Day 10: Vancouver - UK
Transfer to the airport for your flight to the UK.
Day 11 – Flight lands in the UK
