Day 3 - Riviera of Flowers
Enjoy today’s relaxing, optional excursion along the beautiful ‘Riviera of Flowers’. Explore the alleyways of the romantic village of Laigueglia, located at the western end of the bay of Alassio. Alassio, our next stop, is one of the best-known resorts in Liguria, where the ‘budello’, the road that runs parallel to the sea and beaches, is a haven for shoppers. B,D
Day 4 - Santa Margherita and Portofino
Enjoy our optional excursion by boat to the picturesque resort of Portofino. Once a struggling artists’ refuge, the town has become one of Italy’s most fashionable resorts. The small harbour is often home to the glamorous yachts of the rich and famous, and its pedestrian-only streets are crammed with a galaxy of designer names and stylish restaurants. B,D

Day 5 - Monaco and Monte Carlo
Included visit to the exclusive state of Monaco with its striking Belle Epoque style casino and the
famous Prince’s Palace. B,D
Day 6 - Pisa
We leave the Riviera and, en route to the spa town of Chianciano, our next base for a four-night stay, we make a short stop in Pisa, seeing the Leaning Tower and the equally stunning black and white marble Duomo and Baptistry. B,D
Day 7 - Rome
Included visit to the ‘eternal city’ of Rome. Take in the breathtaking architecture of the ancient palaces and piazzas. Our optional guided sightseeing tour by coach and on foot, will introduce you to the principal sights, including the Trevi Fountain and Colosseum (admission to the Colosseum is extra). B,D
Day 8 - Siena and San Gimignano
A full-day, optional excursion to two delightful Tuscan towns. Siena is one of the highlights of any visit to Tuscany. Explore the Piazza del Campo where the famous Palio di Siena horse race takes place, and see the famous Duomo. Next, we visit the charming, hill-top town of San Gimignano, which has beautiful views over the rolling Tuscan countryside. B,D
Day 9 - Assisi
Included, full-day excursion to Umbria, the ‘Green Heart of Italy’. We head to Assisi, the native town of St. Francis. Visit the Basilica featuring frescoes by Giotto and why not join our optional, guided sightseeing tour.
Day 10 - Florence
We leave Chianciano and head to Florence, the artistic capital of Italy, with fashionable shops, museums, cafés and splendid architecture. Join our optional, guided tour to get the most from your visit. Continue to northern Italy for an overnight stay. B,D

On the Italian Riviera, you will stay for four nights at the 3-star Hotel Bergamo in San Bartolomeo al Mare. The hotel has a swimming pool (open depending on season), bar and restaurant and is situated within walking distance of the beach and the heart of the resort.
You will then stay for four nights at the 3-star Hotel Mizar, or similar, in the spa-town of Chianciano Terme. The hotel has a bar and restaurant.
Overnight stays in northern France and northern Italy will be in city-style hotels.
