Holiday Itinerary

Sunday:

From local departure points we head towards our overnight stop.

Monday:

Crossing into Scotland we drive into the Highlands and arrive at our hotel for the next four nights.

Tuesday:

One of the many highlights of our holiday today as we head west to enjoy a ride on the Jacobite Steam Train. This service is regarded as one of the great rail journeys of the world and an unforgettable experience. You can look forward to ‘steaming’ past the much photographed viaduct at Glenfinnan, the beautiful scenery that surrounds Loch Shiel and Loch Morar as well as enjoying visits to Fort William and Mallaig - the ‘Gateway to Skye’.

Wednesday:

Along one of the most scenic journeys in the country today through the Great Glen to Fort Augustus at the head of Loch Ness and then along the shores to Inverness - ‘capital of the Highlands’. Enjoy some free time to explore before we head along the northern shores of Loch Ness to take a cruise on these most famous of
Scottish waters before completing our day with a visit to iconic Urquhart Castle.

Thursday:

A full day sightseeing excursion to the Isle of Skye as we cross the famous road bridge, to visit this unique
isle with its myths, legends and Scottish heritage. We take time to explore the island, where we are treated to some magnificent scenery.

Friday:

To Glencoe where we pause for one of Scotland’s most spectacular views, before skirting the shores of Loch Linnhe to reach the busy port of Oban, gateway to the Western Isles. Heading inland through the Pass of Brander and the banks of Loch Lomond we reach our hotel near Glasgow.

Saturday:

This morning we take a leisurely drive through the Scottish borders, visiting Jedburgh and Hawick before crossing into England and to our final night in the north of England.

Sunday:

A memorable holiday draws to a close with the journey homeward.
