Holiday Itinerary - Spain’s Costa Brava Sunshine
Day 1:
Ferry to Calais and overnight stay in France.
Day 2:
Continue our journey south to the Costa Brava and check in to our hotel in time for dinner
Day 3:
Day at leisure in our resort
Day 4: Tossa de Mar
We take a morning trip to Tossa de Mar, once a medieval town and now a popular seaside resort that has managed to retain all of its original charm and character. Away from the beach, discover the walled old town with its tangle of cobbled streets and enchanting castle.
Day 5: Optional excursion to Barcelona with guided city tour (£22pp)
Today is a chance to join our optional excursion to Barcelona. We’ll see all the highlights of this vibrant, beachside city with our guided city tour, including the bustling streets known as the Ramblas, Gaudi’s incredible cathedral, the Sagrada Familia, and the area built for the 1992 Olympics.
Day 6:
Day at leisure in our resort.
Day 7: Besalú and Figueres
Our second optional excursion takes us on a scenic drive along the coast. We stop first in Besalú, a beautifully preserved medieval town with a 12th-century Romanesque bridge over the River Fluvià, narrow arcaded streets and small squares. We then head to the charming town of Figueres, birthplace of the eccentric artist Salvador Dali and a lovely spot for some souvenir shopping.
Day 8:
We leave the Costa Brava and travel to our overnight hotel in France, with a light evening meal included.
Day 9:
Continue to Calais for our return ferry home.

We’ll stay at a selected hotel on the Costa Brava (JG3 rating) such as the HTop Palm Beach. The hotel offers en-suite bedrooms with balconies, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, buffet-style meals and regular entertainment.
Your hotel will be confirmed approximately 3 weeks before departure. All hotels have a lift.
Upgrade to a selected hotel in Lloret de Mar (JG4 rating) such as the HTop Royal Star or the Htop Amatista. The hotels offer en-suite bedrooms with balconies, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, an outdoor pool, buffet-style meals, regular entertainment and are situated close to the beach.
Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.
Accommodation in our JG4 category is of an even higher standard, typically offering a wide range of facilities and services. Bedrooms are designed to make your stay the most comfortable possible and the staff provide a service that reflects the detail and quality. You can also expect higher standards of food and beverages.
