Itinerary - Classic Glacier and Bernia Express
Day 1 - London to Interlaken
Take the Eurostar to Paris and transfer onto a TGV Lyria train to Basel. Speed through the French Champagne region passing quaint French villages and picturesque countryside before arriving into Basel. On arrival, change onto a direct service travelling to Interlaken. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay. Once settled, maybe head out to the city centre and enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail from the top floor bar of the Metropole hotel, taking in the incredible views over the city. (Overnight in Interlaken)
Day 2 - Interlaken
Travel through tunnels made of solid Alpine rock before arriving at the Jungfraujoch. On a clear day, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views as far as the Vosges Mountains in France and the Black Forest in Germany.
Day 3 - Glacier Express to Chur
Make your way to the train station for the journey to Brig. The train rides the rails over the spectacular Lötschberg Mountain via Kandersteg. On arrival, board the Glacier Express and take a panoramic tour of the Swiss Alps from Brig through to Chur. Travel in comfort aboard what is probably the world’s slowest express train, through the unspoilt beauty of mountain forests, peaceful Alpine meadows and lush valleys.
Day 4 - Bernina Express
One of the world’s most scenic journeys, soak up views of towering viaducts, rocky mountain gorges, icy glaciers and Alpine streams from the train’s panoramic windows. The train crosses the Alps and offers breathtaking views from the panoramic carriages. The line finishes in the Italian border town of Tirano and, after time for a bite to eat, you board the train back to Chur.
Day 5 - Chur to London
After breakfast this morning, check out of your hotel and travel by train from Chur to Zurich for your flight home. B
