Holiday Itinerary - Fort William, Skye & the West Highland Line
Sunday
We head towards our overnight stop in the north.
Monday
To Fort William, our base for the next four nights.
Tuesday
We make the short journey to the station for our return journey on the spectacular West Highland Line - one of the great rail journeys of the world, and a truly unforgettable experience
Wednesday
A full day excursion to the Isle of Skye. Along the wonderful ‘Road to the Isles’ this morning to catch the ferry from Mallaig across the Sound of Sleet. We tour the Isle of Skye with its unique appeal, its myths and legends, and its vast Scottish heritage, along with magnificent scenery such as deeply indented sea lochs and towering mountains of the Cuillens, before we return by way of the impressive road bridge and passing the much photographed
Eilean Donan Castle.
Thursday
To Spean Bridge to view the Commando Memorial, a tribute placed amid the original training grounds and offering spectacular panoramas towards Fort William. We continue to Fort Augustus at the southern most tip of Loch Ness where the Caledonian Canal meets the loch.
Friday
This morning we depart Fort William to return south to our overnight stop.
Saturday
Our tour draws to a close as we head home.
