Day 1: Arrive in Athens for our Holiday

We have arrived! We meet our local representative and transfer to our hotel.

Afternoon: Let’s enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Settle in, relax, and get to know our surroundings.

Perhaps visit the National Archaeological Museum - a great way to spend the afternoon, delving into Ancient Greece’s treasures! 

Day 2: Athens Guided Excursion. Uncover the Highlights of Athens

Morning: Let’s discover Athens on a half day guided excursion. We step back in time and uncover the awe-inspiring Acropolis of Athens, an ancient citadel perched on a hilltop overlooking the city. This wonderful settlement is home to the Parthenon, a beautiful Doric temple, and the Erechtheion, a temple dedicated to Athena and the almighty Poseidon. Don’t forget to wear comfortable and sturdy shoes for walking around the Acropolis!

Next, we uncover the Panathinaikos Stadium (from the outside), host to the first modern Olympic Games and the only stadium in the world that is built entirely of marble!

Afternoon: The rest of the day is free to discover more of this wonderful historic city. Take time out to visit the House of Parliament and see the hourly changing of the guards (arrive early for the best view); savour some Greek delicacies while sitting in a café watching the world go by. Our expert local guide will be happy to recommend places of interest to see and visit..

Day 3: Delphi Full Day Guided Tour, Discover Delphi and the Temple of Apollo

Full Day: On this full day excursion, uncover the archaeological site of Delphi (180km from Athens). A place said to be chosen by Zeus and the site of the Delphic oracle, it was considered by ancient Greeks as the centre of the world and today we can marvel at the omphalos (navel stone) marking this!  At this magnificent site, we take in the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, a 4th century BC temple. See more in the museum of Delphi, as we gaze upon the impressive bronze Charioteer of Delphi, the Naxian Sphinx, and the Statue of Antinous.

After a memorable day, we return to our hotel, passing cotton fields and rolling hills, arriving back into the city of Athens late in the evening.

Day 4: Transfer to Tolo and Discover the Corinth Canal. Morning at Leisure in Athens

Morning: This morning there will be free time to uncover more of the charms of Athens before we depart for Tolo.  Stroll through the atmospheric Plaka district, savour a Greek coffee at one of the pavement cafes, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Now is the perfect opportunity to visit the Acropolis Museum. Go early and beat the crowds, sit out on the café balcony and admire the views of the Acropolis in the distance.

There will be time for a light lunch (not included) before we set off on our new adventure!

Afternoon: We say farewell to Athens! Let’s see more as we depart for Tolo (journey time approximately 3 hours). On the way we make a short stop and take in the awe-inspiring Corinth Canal. This spectacular canal connects the Saronic Canal with the Gulf of Corinth, a great feat of engineering.

Join us for dinner! We arrive in time for dinner at our hotel.

Day 5: Uncover the Historic Argolis Region. Experience Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplio

Full Day: Discover the Argolis region on a full day tour, taking in the highlights of Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplio. We will experience the fascinating Mycenae, a Greek settlement in the second millennium BC, known in mythology as Agamemnon. We experience the wonders of the Epidaurus Amphitheatre, Palace of Agamemnon and the Cyclopean walls during our guided excursion today.

Uncover more at the ancient city of Epidaurus, and marvel at the Epidaurus Amphitheatre!

Next, we fall in love with the pretty seaport of Nafplio, with its elegant Venetian houses, main square, bougainvillea-decorated streets and beautiful port, a perfect place to relax and unwind at one of the cafes while watching the world go by.

Here we take a leisurely break to enjoy lunch and shopping, before we return to our hotel in time for a quick dip in the nearby sea before dinner.

Day 6: Relax More in Tolo. Relax and Experience the Beaches of Tolo

Full Day: Today, take the opportunity to experience the charming fishing village of Tolo at an easy pace. Relax and unwind with a good book on one the beaches, take a stroll along the seashore, enjoy some typical Greek dishes at a local restaurant and savour a cool crisp Greek wine! Our friendly expert guide will be happy to offer recommendations for this free day.

Day 7: Discover the Island of Spetses. Experience Spetses Island

Full Day: Fall in love with Spetses! This morning we depart by coach to Costa and experience a short Sea Taxi ride to the island of Spetses. Revel in the splendour of this sophisticated and charming island, much loved by Greek people who visit here from the mainland.  Soak up the atmosphere on the beach, marvel at the Venetian mansions and their aura of days gone by and enjoy the unique ambience. This is also a perfect opportunity for some shopping. We return to the hotel in the afternoon after a relaxing day on the island.

Day 8: Return Home from Athens. Transfer from Tolo to Athens Airport

On our last day, it’s time to say farewell to our Greek adventure and set off for home. We say farewell to Tolo and our memorable journey through Ancient Greece. We transfer to Athens Airport (journey time approximately 3 hours) for our return flight home.
