We board our ferry to Calais and stay overnight in France on a bed and breakfast basis.
On the way to our overnight stay in Turin, we take the opportunity to explore Geneva, a captivating city of stunning landscapes and Gothic architecture. There's time at leisure here before we head to our hotel.
We enjoy an en-route stop in Genoa, one of Italy's hidden gems and enjoy some time at leisure to explore. We then travel onwards to our main hotel in Tuscany, arriving in time for dinner.
We start the day in Pisa, one of Tuscany’s most popular destinations. Here we have time to explore the history hidden around every corner of this ancient city as well as the chance to take in Pisa’s must-see sights, including the world-famous leaning tower.
Later, we travel to the city of Lucca, celebrated for its intact Renaissance walls enclosing a cobbled centre in classic Roman grid-iron fashion. During our time here, we can soak up the welcoming atmosphere that this Italian city has to offer.
Today, we visit the picturesque Tuscan town of San Gimignano. Cameras at the ready for the stunning medieval city walls and 14 sky-scraping towers, which punctuate the hilltop setting and can be seen for miles.
On our optional excursion, we take the opportunity to spend a day in Siena, a beautifully preserved hilltop city surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, best known for its Palio horse race, which takes place each summer in the Piazza del Campo.
Today’s exciting excursion takes us to Florence, one of Italy’s most charming destinations, where we can take our time to absorb all the beauty and culture of this historic city. Just some of the highlights include the Palazzo Vecchio, Giotti’s Bell Tower and the Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s lovely ‘Old Bridge’, which is still occupied by gold and silversmiths today.
Later, we enjoy a Tuscan-style farewell dinner.
Travel to our overnight hotel in the Dijon area, with a light evening meal included.
Continue to Calais for our return ferry home.
