Day 1 - UK to Oslo
Make your own way to the airport for your flight to Oslo. On arrival we'll transfer you to your hotel in the centre of the city. The rest of the day is free for you to either relax or start exploring. Situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord, the beautiful city of Oslo is the capital of Norway and has a wealth of architecture, museums and other attractions to experience. Take a stroll through the new central city district Bjørvika and walk between Oslo's latest architectural additions: the Deichman Library and Munch Museum. D
Day 2 - Oslo
We start the day by exploring the city with an expert local guide. Enjoy panoramic views of the Opera house, Karl Johans gate (Oslo’s main shopping street), Akershus Castle and Fortress, and the Royal Palace. We'll then take a picturesque ride through some of Oslo’s prettiest neighbourhoods to Vigeland Park, home to more than 200 sculptures. Your afternoon can be spent at leisure in this delightful city. Day 3 - Oslo to Vos
After breakfast we'll make our way to Oslo station to board the Bergen Railway, one of the world's most scenic train rides, which will take you to the remote mountain station of Myrdal. As you leave the city behind, you’ll notice the landscape transforming into a stunning tapestry of lush greenery, meandering rivers, and cascading waterfalls. Myrdal station is located 866 metres above sea level, and connects with the spectacular Flåm Railway, our next journey. The famous Flåm Railway is one of the most beautiful and steepest standard-gauge railway lines in the world, with 80% of the journey at a gradient of 5.5%. The train runs through spectacular scenery, alongside the Rallar Road with its 21 hairpin bends, vertiginous mountainsides, numerous foaming waterfalls and through 20 tunnels before arriving in Flåm. Our journey does not end here as we will then board a ship for an unforgettable crossing through steep mountains on the beautiful Aurlandsfjord and Naeroyfjord to Gudvanger, offering breathtaking views at every turn. We'll continue by road to Voss in the heart of the fjordlands, where we will check in to our hotel and gather together for dinner this evening. B,D
Day 4 - Voss to Ulvik
This morning we will leave Voss behind and descend into the lush valley of Hardanger. As you wind your way along the snaking roads, you’ll be greeted by towering mountains with occasional snow-capped peaks, charming villages and picturesque fjords. We'll journey to Ulvik, a cosy village on the shores of Hardanger Fjord where we'll stay overnight. In the region you will find many fruit orchards and farms that produce their own cider from the region's apples. We will make a stop today to sample some of the area's best. The rest of the day is free to explore the mesmerising countryside in Hardanger. B,D
Day 5 - Ulvik to Bergen
After breakfast we'll depart Ulvik and enjoy a scenic drive to Bergen. Nestled between majestic mountains and the shimmering waters of the North Sea, Bergen is a city that captivates the heart and soul with its old world charm. Bergen is Norway’s second largest city, and is known as the capital of the west and gateway to the fjords. It is a UNESCO world heritage city with the bryggen area one of its finest attractions. A stroll through bryggen - the old wharf of Bergen - takes you back to the middle ages, as much of the unique architecture from the time is preserved. B
Day 6 - Bergen
This morning we will take in the rich history, vibrant culture and breathtaking natural surroundings of Bergan on a sightseeing tour with an expert local guide. We'll visit the fish and flower markets and Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf. There will be free time in the afternoon for you to perhaps board the funicular to the top of Mount Floyen for panoramic views of the city and it's beautiful coast. B
Day 7 - Bergen - UK
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. B
