Holiday Itinerary Christmas in Kent and Canterbury
Included excursions
Christmas Eve in Canterbury
The spellbinding city of Canterbury is home to the oldest cathedral in England, dating back to Norman times. There is plenty to explore within the city’s medieval walls, from quaint cobbled lanes and timber-framed buildings to a bustling shopping centre. The city transforms into a festive wonderland, its medieval streets illuminated with twinkling lights. We then return to our hotel and enjoy dinner. For those who wish to join, we attend Midnight Mass, with mulled wine and mince pies on our return.
Boxing Day in Sandwich and Whitstable
This morning, we head to the historic town of Sandwich. Once a major port, many original medieval buildings are still dotted around this enchanting town, making it a delight to explore. We then visit the charming seaside town of Whitstable. With a small working harbour flanked by shingle beaches, pastel-coloured beach huts, weatherboard houses and an old-fashioned main street full of independent shops and streets lit up with Christmas lights, Whitstable is a lovely place to discover at this time of year.
