We catch the ferry to Calais and onwards to our hotel where we stay overnight.
Held in the historic old town of Koblenz, this market features over 130 decorated wooden stalls, where you’ll find various handcrafted gifts, traditional German Christmas decorations, and seasonal treats. The highlight of this market is its array of delicious food and drink, such as traditional German sausages, freshly baked pretzels, gingerbread cookies and stollen, hot chocolate, and spiced apple cider.
The Rüdesheim Christmas Market, also known as the Christmas Market of Nations, is unique and enchanting and offers a diverse array of festive crafts and culinary delights. Browse a selection of traditional German goods as well as international specialities. The market is beautifully decorated with twinkling lights and festive ornaments, creating a magical atmosphere.
Wiesbaden, the picturesque capital of Hesse is renowned for its historic hot springs, elegant architecture and vibrant cultural scene, combining relaxation, culture, and history. We take a relaxing stroll through this charming city before heading to neighbouring Mainz for its Christmas market.
The Christmas Market of Mainz is regarded as one of the most beautiful in Germany and is a food lover's paradise. Numerous stalls serve traditional German holiday treats such as bratwurst, roasted chestnuts, gingerbread, and mulled wine, known locally as Glühwein. Enjoy live music performances and local bands amongst festive decorations and glowing lights.
We check out of the hotel and travel to Reims for our overnight stay, before heading home. Along the way, we stop at the Reims Christmas Market, one of France’s most famous Christmas events. It is set along a wide promenade lined with illuminated trees against the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral. The stalls offer gourmet food and the city’s world-famous sparkling wine.
Before we continue our journey home, there is the option to enjoy the Duo Mercier Tour. We’re taken by lift down into the wine cellars, where a train takes us on a winding journey, accompanied by a unique audio tour and followed by a champagne tasting.
We head to Calais for our return journey.
