Today we head into Germany and to the majestic city of Cologne. There is plenty of time to explore at leisure, perhaps visit the impressive cathedral, the banks of the Rhine or simply enjoy wandering the narrow streets and bustling squares.

This morning we make our way to nearby Maastricht, 'capital' of Limburg and one of the oldest cities in Holland, with large open squares and cobbled streets. This afternoon we visit the white village of Thorn, once a miniature principality, nowadays it attracts visitors with the allure of its cobbled streets, beautiful church and characteristic white houses.
